Irene Kuykendall, a Richmond native, has performed as a professional singer, actor and comedienne. After graduating from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (NYC) in 2007, she toured three times nationally and once regionally with Theatre IV, worked as a jazz singer at numerous piano bars across the country, and has graced Richmond stages in theatrical dramas and comedies to her heart's content. From stand up to Shakespeare and everything in between, she is a multifaceted performer who can't pick favorites between film and stage. Credits include; Titania from A Midsummer Night's Dream (Sycamore Rouge), Clarice from The Liar (Henley Street Theatre), which was nominated for the Richmond Theatre Critic's Circle 2012 Best Ensemble Award, Suzanne from Picasso At The Lapin Agile (Sycamore Rouge, also nominated), Ismene from Antigone (AMDA), and multiple roles in Muscular Clown's web-based comedy series, looking forward to a launch in the coming months. Her collaborative work in Capgras with director, Matthew Giordano has been an intense, fulfilling ride she could have never fathomed, but is incredibly grateful for.
